Last week we held the Azure Veggie Buntch Supper Club. We had a lovely group of people on the evening and the atmosphere at the restaurant was cozy and warm. As expected, the staff on the evening were friendly, attentive and looked after us well.

Unfortunately, there were a number of hiccups on the evening – one of the main being that there was fish pate on the table! Compared to our previous events at Catharina’s and the Mount Nelson, I didn’t feel that the quality of the Azure experience was as high.
One of the main reasons I started the Veggie Buntch Supper Club was to give vegans and vegetarians the opportunity to sample some of the best food that restaurants can offer. As most of us know all too well, restaurants often treat their plant-based meals as an afterthought. But the Veggie Buntch Supper Club is more than just about the meal. It’s a also a way to share knowledge about vegetarianism and veganism and to encourage restaurants to take meat-free meals seriously.
As a result of a number of errors on the evening, and also due to the fact that I felt the menu was not as exciting or creative as our previous experiences, I complained to Azure. They were sincerely apologetic and disappointed that the evening did not go as well as I would have liked. They kindly offered to refund guests 50% of the price of the event. I felt that they dealt with the issues raised seriously and professionally and would like to thank them for that.
