Vegan for success 09/02/16
Opinion: What does the food I eat have anything to do with my level of success in life? Asks vegan Anelisa Nokoyo.
Since my foray into wellness and health research I’ve come to realise that, most people don’t generally make the connection between health and wellness, and its effect on enjoying sustained success. In fact, most people would ask, “What does the food I eat have anything to do with my level of success in life?” To which I would answer with another rhetorical question, “What do white blood cells have anything to do with your hair?”
Success is not a destination, it is a journey
You see, everything is related, and interrelated, and success is no different. Success is not a destination, it is a journey, and so what better way to enjoy that journey than to live in a body that feels light, vibrant and full of life?
What is success?
I’ll admit that success is relative and that we don’t all have the same ideas about it. However the ENJOYMENT of success to the fullest is a universal desire that ultimately we all want to experience.
So far, in my own experience as an entrepreneur having chosen to do what I love, I’ve come to realise that one of the most important aspects to feeling successful in life is enjoying good health. When I eat well, I feel great. I have lots of energy to exercise in the morning and I usually never skip a day of exercise because I feed my body living foods that give it energy and vitality.
And these morning exercise routines create a positive ripple effect in my day – I have more confidence, better concentration, sustained energy throughout the day, and a feeling of vitality that actually attracts positive people and circumstances to me!
Eat living foods to live longer!
In fact, one of the most inspirational figures in the global vegan movement Karyn Calabrese said it best when she said: “We are living beings, and we have living cells. Our cells regenerate every seven years, and our tissue regenerates every three months. We are alive, so we need living foods to stay alive. It’s very simple; eat dead foods, you die sooner; eat living foods you live longer. Living beings in living bodies should eat living foods.
You literally come alive, people are attracted to you, and you’re almost like a magnet because this life force from the foods makes you come alive internally. It’s kind of like your light comes on and shines, and people don’t really know what it is but they’re attracted to you, they’re drawn to you. Because we all intuitively know that it’s there ‘cause it’s a God-given thing, we’ve just forgotten it, and it’s been clouded over with all the dead food and the chemicals and the air and the thought process – but once you start to detox your body and bring these living foods you will come to realise what health is all about.”
Commit to a healthy lifestyle
I couldn’t have said it better myself! And in a world where half the population suffers from degenerative and fatal diseases such as osteoporosis, cancer and heart disease, which are mostly brought on by a poor diet, it is time for us to acknowledge the role of food in our lives and start focusing and committing to a healthy lifestyle. I mean, you can have all the success in the world, but if you’re not around to enjoy it, then what’s the point?
Love your body and eat veggies and fruit!
So make the commitment today, to love your body and at least incorporate ONE healthy meal of raw fruit and/or vegetables each day. Or try to eat vegan at least once a week. I promise you’ll love the results and your body will thank you for it.
