This Weekend 11/26/10
Check out some of the events on this weekend. By Roline Bosch
This weekend there is a whole lotta fun going on in Cape Town. There’s the Synergy Live all-weekend music event. Today and tomorrow is the Cape Town Beer Festival in Green Point. For the adventurous, SEXPO is on at the CTICC for the whole weekend. There’s the start of the Backsberg picnics with Karen Zoid kicking off the festivities on Sunday. The switching on of the Christmas lights in Adderley Street are happening with Freshly Ground playing… What’s so special about this weekend that everyone decided to have a party? Clearly it is not the weekend to stay-in!
While you can certainly take your pick of activities happening this last weekend of November, it is the allure of wine, cheese and olives that’s got my attention. It’s the Imhoff Farm Wine Festival happening in Kommetjie on Saturday, 27th November from 10am – 3pm. Plenty of wonderful farm goodies will be available for tasting and sales and with an animal touch farm, this is something for both young and old. A round sum of 50 ZAR gets you in.
Because the temptation of sitting under trees sipping wine and eating farm-style Brie in a picnic-like setting has got my earthly, Taurean self spinning with excitement… Will I see you there, or will you be going to one of the other great festivities that our Mother City has to offer?
If you can’t decide, check out the weekend weather to help you.
Whatever you do, be safe, don’t drink and drive and have fun!
